MUKESH AMBANI's RELIANCE JIO made a big record

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently released its monthly Telecom Performance Report for the month of December. Looking at the report, ICICI Securities has said that the addition of 47 lakh active users with Reliance Jio is a positive surprise. It is worth noting that the telco's total user base has decreased by about 12.9 million users. However, in terms of active users, Jio has added 4.7 million new users. This has helped the telco to aggressively improve its VLR subscriber percentage.

Let us tell you for information that by cleaning the inactive customers from the total user base and adding new active customers, Jio's VLR subscriber percentage increased to 87.64% in the month of December 2021. This is higher than Vodafone Idea (Vi)'s VLR subscriber percentage of 86.42%. Apart from this, Airtel has increased its customer base.

Bharti Airtel has added only 0.8 million active users

What is surprising though is that Bharti Airtel was the only private telecom operator to have increased the overall user base. That is, Airtel has made massive progress. However, in terms of active subscriber growth, Airtel saw a growth of only 0.8 million users. This is a very small number compared to the number of active customers that Jio has added.
